Château Neercanne is the only terraced castle in the Netherlands and was built in 1698 by the then Governor of Maastricht, Baron Daniël de Dopff to impress guests that included Czar Peter the Great.
The Château is further blessed by its stunning gardens, designed in a Louis XIV style. Intriguing old engravings spark the interest as you roam this delightful scene. The gardens underwent a full restoration in 1998 and are as good today as when first built.
Château Neercanne was, for the second time in its history, chosen to host a meeting of the heads of European government. Come join the ISMR to help us host our honored delegates.
