This unforgettable adventure is the ideal way to view all the incredible beauty that surrounds our magnificent conference site.  Delight in breathtaking views of the majestic Sandia Mountains and the Rio Grande Valley while floating in the sky and sending greetings to earthbound folks below. Upon landing, you will enjoy a light continental breakfast and champagne toast to mark the end of your memorable adventure. You will also be presented with a flight certificate and balloon flight pin to commemorate your aeronautical experience.The tour conveniently departs from our conference hotel.

Santa Fe Tour

Travel north to historic and picturesque Santa Fe. Upon arrival you may take an optional guided walking tour, visiting such points of interest as the historic Plaza, St. Francis Cathedral, the Loretto Chapel, with its famous “miraculous” staircase, and the San Miguel Mission. Founded in 1610, Santa Fe is the heart and soul of the Southwest and “Santa Fe Style” is synonymous with all the best the region has to offer. Its historic Plaza, winding streets, covered arcades, hidden gardens, courtyards and Pueblo-style architecture reflect the blending of Indian, Hispanic and Anglo cultures. You will have a two museum pass for the Museum of New Mexico with admission to the New Mexico Museum of Art and the New Mexico History Museum both located in the Plaza area.

You may continue to explore on your own or perhaps indulge in a southwestern shopping spree at the many unique specialty stores and galleries around the Plaza. Nearly all the city’s main cultural attractions are within walking distance of the Plaza, including the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum and the Palace of the Governors.

Guided Nature Walk

Join the Recreation department for a guided nature walk through our Bosque area. You will have the opportunity to learn about the flora and fauna that is indigenous to New Mexico and the extensive restoration project that is underway along the Rio Grande River.

Attire: Outdoor wear and walking shoes


Horseback RidingTrail Rides

The adventure begins at the Carriage Circle, where guests will be transported to the stables.  Along your journey, you will enjoy spectacular views of the Sandia Mountains silhouetted against the New Mexican sky. Your peaceful ride may take you through the cottonwood trees that line the Rio Grande and Jemez Rivers, or you may meander along trails where the Tamayame have traveled for centuries. During your adventure, you may have the opportunity to encounter some of the abundant indigenous wildlife that roams these sacred lands. Trail rides are offered twice daily and are expertly guided by professional handlers.

Please allow approximately two hours for the entire excursion. Trail rides are offered daily. Reservations are required by 8:00 p.m. the day prior to the ride. Proper attire, including long pants and closed-toe shoes, are strongly recommended. Private, individual, and group trail rides are available. Some restrictions apply.
