Presentation Instructions & Poster Awards

Criteria for Presentations

  • Due to limited time allotments (oral presentations) and available space for posters, we will accept a limit of one (1) oral abstract and one (1) poster abstract per registered first presenting author.
  • All abstracts must be submitted via the conference web site. Please limit your abstracts to 350 words or less. Mailed, emailed or faxed abstracts will not be accepted. If you have problems with submitting your paper on our website, contact administration office for assistance.
  • Oral abstract presentations are restricted to a fifteen (15) minute time allotment- 12 minutes for presentation and 3 minutes for questions. Time allotments are limited and papers will be selected based on scientific content, submission date and available time.
  • Presenters are solely responsible for submission and confirming receipt of their abstracts. Approved presentations will be posted to this conference website. After presentations have been posted, all presenters are required to review for confirmation of presentation.

    NOTE: If you did not receive a receipt from our conference administration office, we most likely did not receive your paper. If your presentation is not posted, your paper is not confirmed for presentation nor will your paper be published in our Program Syllabus. Contact the conference administration office prior to August 1, 2013 to rectify any misunderstanding. No changes will be accepted after August 1, 2013.

  • Acceptances of papers are restricted due to limited time allotments for oral presentations and available space for poster presentations. Submit you papers early.
  • Due to time allotment restrictions, we may not be able to accept all oral presentation. If we can not accommodate your request for oral presentation we strongly encourage you to present your paper as a Poster Presentation.
  • Speakers are required to disclose any affiliation with and financial interest in a company or a product related to the subject matter of the presentation as a part of the Speaker’s Agreement and the abstract submission process. 
  • To qualify for Poster Awards, all designated presenting poster authors must be present during the Poster Session.
  • No travel compensation is provided for abstract presenters (oral or poster).
  • Abstracts (oral and poster) will be printed in the conference program book, as submitted. Please edit your papers accordingly.
  • All presenters must pay conference fees prior to July 22, 2013.

July 22, 2013 - All presenters must register and pay conference fees to confirm participation and abstract publication. Failure to register prior to this day may result in losing your presentation time and publishing your abstract paper.

July 22, 2013 - Early Register Discount Deadline... Save $100 (non-military) register prior to July 22nd.

August 1, 2013 - Poster Abstract submission deadline. Poster presenters... All posters related to conference topics will be approved... Register early to save $100 (prior to July 22nd)

August 1, 2013 - Last day to edit your abstract paper. Return to this page, link to>> Abstract Submission and post your User Name and Password.

Abstract papers will be published in our Conference Program Syllabus as submitted. Please edit you papers accordingly.

August 9, 2013 - All poster presentations will be posted on the Poster Presentations page of this website. Poster presenters are responsible to review Poster Presentation page to ensure that their presentation has been received and is posted.

Poster Presentations

The Program Committee considers posters an important contribution to the success of this conference. The poster presentations will be given particular emphasis at the conference. Many of the presentations will provide information that was thought to be better suited to the higher level of exposure and interaction that a poster presentation affords. For this reason, and given the nature of the conference, poster presentations are seen as an extremely important venue for information exchange.

Poster Format

  • Size of Poster: Poster sizes will be limited to 30 inches (76.2 cm) wide by 40 inches (101.6 cm) tall. Make sure you poster is printed to read 30 inches (76.2 cm) across - from left to right.
    • Poster boards will be available at conference site for display of your poster.
Poster Instructions

• Posters will be assigned to a poster board number listed in our Conference Program Book (distributed at conference site). Find your assigned poster board to display your poster.
• Posters must be displayed prior to scheduled Poster Session and will remain displayed until end of meeting.
• Include abstract title and authors.
• No audio/visual equipment will be allowed for poster presentation (No electrical will be available).
• Poster should be self-explanatory so that you are free to supplement and discuss any points of inquiry. The poster session provides a more intimate forum for discussion than an oral presentation. This becomes difficult if you are obliged to devote most of your time explaining your poster to a succession of visitors.

Poster Awards

    Poster Awards will be presented to outstanding posters approved and displayed at our conference

    ELIGIBILITY: There are two categories for awards: (1) Student poster presentations and (2) Non-Student poster presentations.  A registered first author of any approved poster presented at the meeting will be eligible for the prize.  Approved posters are defined as any "poster title and its first author posted on the conference website”.

    ADJUDICATION: Judges will review abstract papers and posters

    PRESENTATION: The prizes will be awarded at the conference banquet,

    PRIZE: A cash prize will be awarded to outstanding posters for both students and non-student delegates.

    NOMINATION: All approved posters will be included for judging. Due to the large number of posters submitted, poster abstracts will be reviewed upon submission. Selected abstracts from our poster website page will be considered for poster award nomination, based on the quality of the submitted abstract. All nominated posters will be reviewed at conference site Poster Session for content and display. Additional posters, based on display and content, may be considered for awards.

    ATTENDANCE: Poster first author must be registered and present during the scheduled Poster Session to answer questions for judges and meeting delegates.  Posters will remain displayed throughout the meeting

Continuing Educational Credits:
Dental CE credits for the state of California will be provided. Approval of these dental CE credits with other state boards are the responsibility of the delegate.
